Three Canadian Advisors Take Home Awards at Co-Nexion Conference

LtoR: Gillian Scott, Kevin Lapointe and Lisa Dunne.

Three Canadian travel advisors were honoured at Nexion Travel Group’s annual conference “Co-Nexion” held earlier in September at the Loews Sapphire Falls Resort at Universal Orlando.

Throughout the conference, Nexion honoured top members with awards recognizing their outstanding achievements over the past year.

Kevin Lapointe of Sunscape Vacations, Orléans, Ontario, as the Canadian Rising Star who, after only a half in the industry, has built a strong foundation through Nexion University before jumping into sales and selling vacation packages.

“Getting this reward means I am in the right industry, at the right time, doing the right thing and most importantly can continue doing what I love,” Lapointe told Travel Market Report Canada.

The Fostering Excellence Award, New this year, the award honoring Mike Foster for his trailblazing contributions to the agency was presented to Gillian Scott of St. Thomas, ON.

Lisa Dunne of Dunnville, ON took home the Stories of Success Award which recognizes inspiring achievements and contributions. She was also recognized with a Spotlight Success Award which was presented to a group of outstanding NEXTalk speakers.

“Winning the ‘Stories of Success Award’ means a lot to me,” Dunne told Travel Market Report Canada. “It’s recognition of the hard work, resilience, and passion I bring to growing my business and helping clients create unforgettable treasured moments. This award motivates me to keep pushing forward and delivering my very best, and I’m truly honoured to have received it”.

A new award, The Fostering Excellence Award which honours Mike Foster for his trailblazing contributions to the agency, was present to Gillian Scott, of St. Thomas ON.

“I am deeply honoured to be the first recipient of the Fostering Excellence Award. It is especially meaningful because it’s named after Mike Foster, who had such an important influence on me, particularly in the early years of my career,” Scott told Travel Market Report Canada. “To be recognized in connection with his legacy is both humbling and inspiring, and I am thrilled to receive such an award”.

Celebrating its milestone 30th anniversary, the company’s largest conference to date brought together 725 advisors, staff and partners for three days of learning, networking, growth and celebration.

“Congratulations to all of our award winners,” said Jackie Friedman, VTA, CTIE, President of Nexion Travel Group. “This year is especially meaningful as we celebrate Nexion’s 30th. It’s inspiring to honor those who truly embody our values. Whether chosen by a fellow member or by Nexion staff, they share one thing in common: a deep passion for supporting Nexion.

We are proud to call them members—they represent the very best of who we are!”
