Accor Names New CEO of Raffles & Orient Express

Hospitality company Accor on Tuesday announced that effective March 1, 2023, Omer Acar will take over as the new CEO of Raffles and Orient Express.

Acar, who will be based in New York and report directly to Sébastien Bazin on the Luxury & Lifestyle Executive Committee, most recently served as the managing director of Europe and Americas for Katara Hospitality, a position where he supervised 18 hotels including The Plaza in New York, Peninsula in Paris, Carlton in Cannes, Excelsior in Rome, Grosvenor House, and The Savoy in London.

Previously, he also served as GM at the Le Royal Monceau Raffles Paris, and held various positions with the Four Seasons Hotels, including the director of Food and Beverage at the company’s Sharm El Sheik property.

In his new role, Acar will Omer will also assume responsibility for representing Accor in the North American market.

Accor recently announced plans to bring its Orient Express brand to sea with Orient Express Silenseas, which will begin sailing in 2026.
