Culinary Travel Big For Canada And Canadians

by Richard D'Ambrosio  June 29, 2017

Canadians are traveling more to taste local food and drink, according to a new survey that also highlights the ascendance of Canadian cities known for their gastronomy.

In a recent survey, Booking.com found that nearly three quarters (69%) of Canadians “would travel somewhere known for its food and drink.” The top 5 cities in Canada endorsed for food were Vancouver, Montreal, Halifax, Winnipeg and Toronto. Booking.com cited Vancouver’s “west coast charm and healthy treats,” followed by the “flavorful Quebecois cuisine of Montreal.”

Nova Scotia, the Halifax capital, was recognized for its fresh seafood and award-winning wines.
