1 Hotels, the luxury hotel brand, now has a presence in the Bay Area.

1 Hotels this weekend opened 1 Hotel San Francisco, the brand’s second California hotel after its San Diego hotel, and its first in San Francisco.

The property sits in Embarcadero, across the street from San Francisco Bay and not far from the city’s downtown. In total, it offers 186 guest rooms and 14 suites, along with panoramic views of the city’s rolling hills.

1 Hotels said that the property was designed to pay homage to the hotels’ regional environment, with an earth tone color palette, a wood lobby floor, and redwood salvaged from the original San Francisco Bay Bridge adorning elevator landings and corridors.

“1 Hotel San Francisco is an inspiring example of what our brand stands for,” said 1 Hotels Founder and CEO & Chairman of Starwood Capital Group Barry Sternlicht.

“It is a tangible extension of our vision and purpose: to place holistic wellness at the forefront of our operations for our guests, local communities, and the planet.  This vibrant and eclectic city has long been at the forefront of driving sustainable change in architecture and design.  Inspired by that rich history, our goal is to infuse an urban oasis with the natural beauty of the Northern California landscape and the sensibility of this dynamic community.”

For food and drink, the hotel offers Terrene, an indoor-outdoor café and lounge with a menu of local, sustainably sourced ingredients including some grown in the hotel’s rooftop garden. That eatery will open later this summer.

The new hotel also offers a full-service Bamford wellness spa, a 24/7 gym called The Field House that includes Peloton bikes, and electric Audis on-site available for guests to use.

For meetings, the hotel includes 5,074 sq. ft. of indoor and outdoor meeting and event spaces, including a 1,750 sq. ft. ballroom, boardroom, and outdoor terraces perched on the hotel’s upper floors that offer panoramic views of the city.
