IHG Hotels & Resorts has just debuted its fast-growing premium brand, voco hotels, in Thailand with the opening of voco Bangkok Surawong.
The 244-key property replaces the original Tawana Hotel, which Thai architecture firm A49 and interior design studio P49 Deesign restored and remodeled to blend the building’s heritage with Thai artistry and a comfortable, modern atmosphere.
“We are thrilled to introduce voco hotels to Thailand and offer travelers a stay that is upscale, familiar yet refreshingly different,” said Walid Ouezini, general manager of voco Bangkok Surawong. “We look forward to inviting guests to immerse in the brand’s playful nature and enjoy delightful, uplifting voco experiences provided by our thoughtful hosts here in Surawong.”
voco Bangkok Surawong is located on Surawong Road, steps from the vibrant Silom district, home to shopping and entertainment landmarks. When guests enter the hotel, they’ll be greeted with the voco brand’s signature welcome treat that’s unique to each hotel – at this property, a mango sticky rice cookie.
The hotel features three restaurants and bars, an outdoor lap pool surrounded by gardens on the fourth floor, a fitness center, and an onsen spa. It also features a ballroom that seats up to 200 people and four flexible meeting rooms. Dining options include Tasca Sabio, a Spanish-inspired restaurant and bar, and Deckles Smokehouse for all-day dining.
IHG launched voco hotels in 2018 and has now opened 117 hotels under the brand, with another 108 in the pipeline.
