Peter Island Resort has joined Preferred Hotels & Resorts’ Legend Collection. The newly transformed and reopened property is set on a private island in the British Virgin Islands.

After suffering damage from the 2017 hurricane season, Peter Island Resort has undergone seven years of renovations and just began welcoming guests once more on Dec. 1. The resort’s 52 rooms, suite, and villa accommodations are steps from the sea with access to five beaches.

“We are thrilled to introduce Peter Island Resort as the newest member of Preferred Hotels & Resorts’ prestigious Legend Collection,” said Dan Coyle, executive vice president of United States and Canada for Preferred Hotels & Resorts. “After an inspiring reimagination, this exclusive private island resort exceeds any expectations previously set with its iconic intimacy and elegance, presenting a refreshed level of unparalleled sophistication and service that distinctly embodies our distinguished Legend Collection.”

Peter Island Resort features a brand-new infinity pool, a 10,000-square-foot seaside spa, and a full-service marina. It also has two restaurants: Drake Steakhouse, serving Caribbean-inspired surf and turf, and Yacht Club’s Drunken Pelican, dishing out casual bites and craft cocktails.

As part of the Legend Collection, Peter Island Resort is classified by Preferred as a distinguished property representing the very highest levels of luxury and is now part of the I Prefer Hotel Rewards, points-based loyalty program. The resort’s highest accommodation – in luxury and physical elevation – is the ultra-luxurious Falcon’s Nest Villa, perched on a mountain peak.
