Starting in December, American Airlines will offer a variety of new flight service destinations linking the U.S. to Mexico, with connections to Huatulco (HUX), Acapulco (ACA) and Chihuahua (CUU), in addition to five new Caribbean and eight new domestic routes.

“As we looked at our Latin America and Caribbean network, we saw some unique opportunities to grow, providing more service to the places our customers value most,” said Vasu Raja, vice president of network and schedule planning for American Airlines.

“We know that customers who travel for business during the week are seeking Caribbean destinations on the weekends, and we’re looking forward to providing new opportunities for that this winter.”

American Airlines already offers more service between the U.S. and Mexico than any other airline, with up to 85 daily flights to 22 cities, and on Dec. 18, they will expand further to offer daily service between Phoenix (PHX) and Chihuahua (CUU). The new route will offer one-stop convenience for customers on the West Coast.

Tuesday and Saturday service from Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) to Huatulco (HUX) and Acapulco (ACA) is set to begin on Dec. 21, offering the only nonstop service from Dallas Fort Worth (DFW). These flights will be operated seasonally with an Embraer E175 featuring 12 first class seats, 64 main cabin seats, free wireless entertainment, and WiFi.

Travelers seeking connections to South America and the Caribbean will soon be in luck. Starting on Dec. 18, American will launch flight service between New York (JFK) and Georgetown, Guyana (GEO), as well as increased service between Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) and Costa Rica with a second daily flight to San Jose (SJO) and Liberia (LIR).

American will also begin offering a series of new Saturday-only flights to St. Thomas, USVI (STT), from Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) and Chicago O’Hare (ORD) on Dec. 21. Seasonal service will also begin between Chicago O’Hare (ORD) and St. Lucia (UVF).

Customers on the East Coast can soon begin traveling from New York (LGA) to Bermuda (BDA); while customers traveling to or from Charlotte, North Carolina (CLT), can enjoy the sun and sand on the island of Grenada (GND).

These new routes are continuing a trend of increased service to popular destinations like Nassau, Bahamas (NAS), which welcomed service from Chicago O’Hare (ORD) and New York (LGA) in December; and unique destinations like St. Kitts (SKB), which will see new service from Dallas Fort Worth (DFW )beginning May 25.

In addition to introducing a selection of international destinations, American will soon offer a variety of new domestic options, as well. Miami Airport serves as American’s gateway to the Caribbean and Latin America, and the airline will be creating more opportunities for customers to take advantage of the hub this winter.

A new daily service is planned for Oklahoma City (OKC); Northwest Arkansas (XNA); and Columbia, South Carolina (CAE), starting Dec. 18, with convenient flight times that will connect customers to dozens of vacation-worthy destinations.

American will also introduce the only daily service between Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) and St. George, Utah (SGU), set to launch on Sept. 26; as well as a new Saturday service between Philadelphia (PHL) and Eagle/Vail, Colorado (EGE) on Dec. 21.

Other domestic highlights include flights from PHX–Rapid City, South Dakota (RAP) and ORD–Charleston, West Virginia (CRW). Business travelers heading to and from New York will also have new options for travel to Richmond, Virginia (RIC), with three daily flights launching from New York (JFK) on Nov. 21.

American Airlines will begin selling tickets to these exciting new routes starting May 13.
