After significantly increasing its requirements last year, Delta Air Lines will not raise the bar for earning Medallion status for 2027.

The airline confirmed this week that the qualifying thresholds for 2027 Medallion Status will remain unchanged. This gives travelers a clear path to earning Diamond, Platinum, Gold, or Silver status for the upcoming year. The current thresholds are:

  • 5,000 MQDs for Silver
  • 10,000 MQDs for Gold
  • 15,000 MQDs for Platinum
  • 28,000 MQDs for Diamond

Medallion Qualification Dollars (MQDs) can be earned through flying on Delta and partner airlines, spending on eligible Delta SkyMiles American Express Cards, and booking trips with Delta Vacations. There are a couple of other ways to get closer to status, too. Delta SkyMiles American Express Card Members get a MQD headstart of $2,500 each year, and Delta’s new partnership with Uber allows members to earn points through rides and deliveries.

Delta is also continuing its popular status match program, which allows members with elite status from nearly every other major airline to switch their loyalty. This includes programs like United MileagePlus, Southwest Rapid Rewards, JetBlue TrueBlue, and American AAdvantage.

To be eligible for the status match, you must have been a SkyMiles member for at least 30 days and have flown at least one Delta flight (excluding Basic Economy) within the last three years.
