Delta Air Lines will once again fly its daily nonstop service from Tel Aviv (TLV) to New York’s JFK International (JFK) on June 7, 2024.

Delta had suspended the service last October after the Oct. 7 attacks and made the decision to resume it this week only after “an extensive security risk assessment by the airline.”

“Delta continues to closely monitor the situation in Israel in conjunction with government and private-sector partners,” the airline said in a statement.
Delta already resumed flights from Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) into Tel Aviv in March, joining Lufthansa, which resumed the service in January. Lufthansa subsequently suspended the service after Iranian attacks in April, but has since restarted the service.

United is also resuming service to Tel Aviv from Newark this month with nonstop daily service on June 6. it also expects to add a second daily nonstop by the end of June.

Tourists from the U.S. to Israel are now subject to Israel’s Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) pilot program, which launched for Americans and Germans on June 1, 2024. The Israel ETA costs about 25 NIS (around $7 USD), a cost that will be waived during the pilot program, and will be valid for up to two years or until a visitor’s passport expires.
