New Opening: Ritz-Carlton New York, NoMad
by Daniel McCarthy /The newest Manhattan luxury hotel, Ritz-Carlton New York, NoMad, is now open.
The hotel officially opened on Tuesday in the NoMad neighborhood (NOrth of MADison Square Park), 50 stories above the corner of 28th street and Broadway. It is the second Ritz-Carlton property in New York following The Ritz-Carlton New York, Central Park.
The hotel adds 250 guestrooms, including 19 suites, and an additional 16 one- and two-bedroom penthouse residences. The guestrooms are “inspired by residential-style living,” Ritz-Carlton said, with bespoke furnishings and neutral colors that invite the surrounding city views to take prominence in the rooms.
The largest of the offerings is the 2,100 sq. ft. Ritz-Carlton Suite, which sits on the hotel’s 37th floor and includes its own private wellness room with a Peloton bike, a living room, and a dining area, a completely separate media room, a 194 sq. ft. walk-in closet, and its own service entrance.
Its food and dining offerings are highlighted by Zaytinya, a 140-seat Mediterranean restaurant on the hotel’s ground floor from culinary icon José Andrés. Also in the hotel is Nubeluz, a rooftop cocktail lounge with a menu crafted by Andrés and 270-degree views across Manhattan.
There is also The Lobby Lounge and Bar that offers pastries and coffee in the morning, with champagne and nightcaps in the evening.
Another restaurant by Andrés is coming later this year—The Bazaar, a high-end avant-garde eatery that Ritz-Carlton says is a “wild sensory adventure…where sophisticated cuisine, artful service, and playful theatrics come together.”
The hotel will also include the brand’s signature Ritz-Carlton Club Lounge (exclusively for Club Level guests), along with the Ritz-Carlton Spa and Fitness Center, and more.
“I am honored to be leading a talented team of Ladies & Gentlemen as we open our doors to guests and locals alike in this everchanging and dynamic community,” said Bastian Germer, General Manager of The Ritz-Carlton New York, NoMad. “We are excited to bring Manhattan a quintessential, yet freshly re-imagined, New York experience.”
