“Essential:” Riverside Luxury Cruises’ Peter Ouzounov on the Value of TMP Events

Peter Ouzounov
Senior Director of Sales, Canada, Riverside Luxury Cruises.

The 2025 Travel Market Place (TMP) events in Vancouver, Toronto, and Calgary have officially wrapped with huge success, and planning is already underway for 2026 which will see Montreal join the schedule for the very first time.

Success is a group effort, so we’re speaking with suppliers about what they learned at our TMP events and how important they think the events are to advisors. We went one on one with Riverside Luxury Cruises’ Peter Ouzounov Senior Director of Sales, Canada to find out his thoughts.

TMR Canada: How important is it for you to participate in the TMP events across Canada?

Ouzounov: “For me, participating in TMP events across Canada is essential. These gatherings offer more than the chance to showcase our new brand. They provide the opportunity to hear directly from Canadian travel advisors, understand what inspires them, see what resonates, and learn about the challenges they face so we can provide meaningful support. TMP is one of the best platforms in Canada to strengthen existing relationships and build new ones, which is the foundation of our business.

When you see the enthusiasm and record turnout at TMP, with Vancouver selling out weeks in advance, Toronto drawing its largest crowd yet, and Calgary growing so much that they needed an even bigger venue to accommodate demand, it’s clear these gatherings are vital touchpoints for our industry. Next year, TMP is adding Montreal to the calendar, and I can’t wait to see the same energy and engagement there. Being at these events in person allows us to connect, exchange ideas, and grow alongside the advisors who make our industry thrive.”

Tell us about the quality of Travel Advisors you are seeing at the events?

“The quality of Travel Advisors attending TMP is exceptional. These are professionals who are deeply committed to growing their business and are genuinely curious, eager to learn, and constantly looking for ways to elevate the experiences they provide their clients.

What impresses me most is their entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to their craft. Advisors coming to TMP are investing in their knowledge, building meaningful connections, and seeking out insights that help them deliver even more value. The growth in attendance across the three events reflects how motivated and ambitious these advisors are.”

From the feedback you get from advisors, what are they most impressed by about the TMP events?

“Advisors consistently tell me they’re impressed by the quality and relevance of the content at TMP, and the energy throughout the events is palpable. They love the balance between education, networking, and supplier interaction. The sessions are practical and insightful, the speakers are relatable, and the amazing Geraldine Ree masterfully ties everything together with an actionable framework that allows advisors to take what they learn straight back to their offices and turn it into results.

The education covers topics that matter today, from social media strategy and AI to emerging trends in luxury travel. Advisors leave TMP inspired, informed, and ready to implement new ideas that enhance their business and elevate the experiences they create for their clients.

They also value the time suppliers like us dedicate to connect, answer questions in depth, and share meaningful insights that go beyond brochures and presentations.”

What would you say to an agent who has not attended a TMP event before?

“If you haven’t attended a TMP event yet, you’re missing out on one of the most valuable professional development opportunities for our industry. Whether you’re new to the business or a seasoned pro, you’ll walk away with new insights, meaningful connections, and renewed confidence to grow your business.

TMP creates an environment that encourages collaboration, learning, and idea sharing. The energy is contagious, the content is relevant, and the opportunity to connect with both peers and suppliers is unmatched. These events fill up quickly, so my advice is to register early. Attending is an investment in yourself and your business that pays off in knowledge, relationships, and inspiration.”

Any general comments on TMR Canada and the TMP shows?

“TMR Canada and the TMP team have created something very special. Their events consistently deliver value, not only for advisors but also for suppliers like us who believe in the power of partnership.

They’ve built a trusted platform that supports education, community, and growth across the travel industry. What’s especially encouraging is their commitment to expanding their Canadian presence through Travel Market Report Canada, a clear signal that they’re investing in the future of the advisor community. Adding Montreal to the calendar next year is an exciting step and a reflection of the strong demand for these events.

At Riverside Luxury Cruises, we’re proud to support and be part of that mission. TMP has become an essential way for us to connect with our partners, share our story, and help advisors discover the world of true luxury river cruising.”
