Hyatt is opening its first Regency branded hotel in Manhattan later this year with the Hyatt Regency Times Square.
The 795-room hotel is taking the place of what used to be the Crowne Plaza Times Square Manhattan, a four-star hotel on 50th street and Broadway that closed a few weeks ago.
Hyatt says the new Hyatt Regency Times Square will include an upscale “New York style market, bar and lounge experience, and state-of the-art fitness center,” all with views of the surrounding skyline.
Hyatt says the hotel should open sometime during Q3 of this year.
New York City remained the most visited large city in the U.S. in 2024. According to NYC City Tourism and Conventions, the city welcomed 64.3 million travelers in 2024, reaching 9% of its record-setting 2019 visitation level of nearly 67 million. It expects to exceed those numbers in 2025.
