Kimpton is adding a new Budapest hotel to its portfolio.

Set to open in July 2024, the new Kimpton BEM Budapest will add 127 rooms to the Kimpton portfolio. Its location is on the Buda banks of the Danube, close to Budapest’s Castle District, one of the city’s most popular neighborhoods that include the Hungarian National Gallery, the Koller Gallery, and the city’s Turkish baths.

The hotel sits in a 19th-century mansion that was transformed by Kimpton. Outside of the guestrooms, the hotel will offer an all-day lobby-level bar and restaurant, a chef-driven Mediterranean restaurant, and a rooftop bar and lounge exclusive for guests.

Guestrooms start at standard “essential city view” rooms and go up to a one-bedroom suite with Danube views, a Cosmos Suite, and an Observatory Suite that sleeps four and includes separate living and dining areas and a separate private outside area.

Kimpton is marketing the hotel as “authentically crafted for the ultimate luxury lifestyle hideaway in this bustling capital.”

“We are delighted to announce the opening of Kimpton BEM Budapest, a first-of-its-kind luxury lifestyle hotel for Hungary’s capital city,” said Attila AE Domby, General Manager. “We are excited to invite travelers to explore the cultural marvel that is Budapest through a new, local, and design-led lens, and introduce them to the wonders and legends that await across this still yet-to-be-discovered European destination.”
